This is such a lovely different designer boutique hotel; apart from the amazingly unique design features (and amazingly unique rooms, I choose the River Room due to travelling with a dog) the service is what completely also excels at thr backstage hotel, Vernissage and the diners club. The service was individual and second to none; a complete credit to all that work at the group designed by ‘Heinz’ someone (excuse not remembering as I write!) diners club was an exeotional meal and bar-designed ‘winter warmer’ (vodka based) cocktail exceptional. I couldn’t have been made to feel more special on a stay; exceptional place, exceptional service. Thank you so very much for an amazing stay Backstage Hotel
Stayed in the Sky & Stars Suite. All I can say is WOW. Great breakfast. Cool bar and stage in basement. Short walk from train station. Great location in Zermatt. View of Matterhorn from room, even in bed due to glass walls and ceiling.
I stayed at the BackStage Hotel with my family last month and I was very impressed by the hotel’s modern and chic design, the excellent spa experience, and the convenient location near the Zermatt Station. The hotel has a unique concept of combining art and hospitality, and each spa room has a different theme inspired by the seven days of creation. The spa area is also amazing, with a heated outdoor whirlpool, a sauna, and a steam bath. The hotel also offers a free shuttle service to the ski lifts and the train station.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, especially Victoria, who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. She was very polite and attentive, and she helped us with everything we needed. When my 5-year-old daughter accidentally hurt her finger by the door while closing, Victoria immediately put some medical cream on her finger with a bandage, and gave her a strawberry to stop her crying. Her finger healed the next day, thanks to Victoria’s care.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a stylish and cozy place to stay in Zermatt. It is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, and I would definitely come back again.
We visited this spa for my birthday in September, the hotel facilities were amazing, but the absolute standout feature of our visit was our greeter Jo, who just made us feel so welcome! Such an entertaining staff member, who could not have been more helpful and accomodating, and was a fantastic representation of the hotel, creating a brilliant atmosphere. He really made the experience special for all of us. Thank you Jo! And the hotel is just gorgeous too.
Been traveling across Switzerland and this is by far the best boutique hotel we have stayed at.
Like everywhere they accepted our luggage early before check in so we could go explore Zermatt. However they went above and beyond, placing our bags in the room for us. We then were escorted up to the rooms after returning later and given a tour of the amenities and what was included was fully explained.
Wifi was easy.
The attention to detail is obvious from the moment you walk into the lobby. The rooms themselves blew us away.
10/10 would recommend.
Honestly, this is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at! The price, the service, and the location in the middle of all the shops were outstanding.
One important thing to mention is that the SPA water was not hot; it was not as warm as it should be, which made the experience less enjoyable. However, the rooms, the design, and everything else about this place were exceptional, and I highly recommend it! I truly mean it.
Great location up beat motel friendly staff plus the owner wife made us coffee while we waited for our room. Dinner is downstairs and was high standard.
We stayed here for 3 nights.
The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious enough and it had plenty of storage space.
The breakfast was delicious with many options to choose from.
The staff was friendly and nice.
The interior design is at least odd, it seems a bunch of random objects were used into decorating the place ( shower heads and musical instruments as lights, cutlery and bowls as door knobs).
If I couldn't understand the art, it was obviously my problem, I am not evaluating the hotel based on that.
However, there were two aspects I didn't like at all and these are also going to prevent me from staying here again:
1. The bathroom is in fact 2 small glass boxes with non functional doors that offer 0 privacy.
2. The room (also the entire hotel for what it's worth) is filled with blankets, pillows, fur decorative stuff etc etc. While this can create the effect of a cozy place, it is in fact a nightmare for people with allergies as they retain dust and mites.
I didn't appreciate paying this much for this hotel and waking up with my face swollen and not being able to breath.
All in all, I wasn't happy with the value for money.
